The Body Electric:

Cultivating Eroticism for Pleasure and Liberation

“WHEN I SPEAK OF THE EROTIC, THEN, I SPEAK OF IT AS AN ASSERTION OF THE LIFEFORCE; OF THAT CREATIVE ENERGY EMPOWERED.” -AUDRE LORDE

Working With the Red Goddess in the Tradition of Shakta Tantra

OM KAILA HREEM HASA KAHALA HREEM SAKALA HREEM

There is wisdom in the imagery of Tripura Sundari, a beautiful red goddess who sits on a throne comprised of all of the other gods, including her lover, Shiva. Desire is most at home in itself, in the magical sensation of worship, devotion, and attraction. Shakti worship asks us to be present to our wants and wishes rather than view them as obstacles or evidence of lack. Desire is the love language of Creation, and you are the divine love-child who speaks this language fluently, in the depths of yourself. We invite you to conjure these words with us… for pleasure and liberation.

This course consists of group work, personal sadhana, and enrichment. Participants will receive a syllabus once they enroll which gifts them with a sadhana, or spiritual practice, in the Shakta Tantra tradition. The purpose of the sadhana is to excavate desire and awaken aliveness by working with mantra, mudra, and deity worship. Participants will receive enrichment activities which ask them to watch, listen to, and read erotic writers such as Adrienne Rich and Anais Nin, pleasure activists such as Audre Lorde and Adrienne Maree Brown, and embodiment workers such as Michaela Boehm. Finally, participants are invited to attend the group sessions where the real medicine and magick occurs in the mandala of the group.
